Calexico - Para

Tucson dudes Calexico are back with a beauty of a song. Para is taken from the upcoming Calexico album 'Algiers' out on September 7th. Must have in your music collection.

Serj Tankian - Figure It Out

System of a Down boss Serj Tankian still is a winner. Great song. New album Harakiri will be released in October.

Muse - Survival

The official song for the London Olympics 2012. Not the official vid though ;) And the song? Is it Muse or Queen?

Last Dinosaurs - Andy

In a Million Years is the title of their debut album. Australian outfit. It's one of those hip new young charismatic indie dance bands coming up.

POLIÇA - Dark Star

Listen to the hypnotic voice of Channy Leaneagh. She's part of Ryan Olson's psychedelic R&B project POLIÇA. Released some months ago, but it has got a summer touch, so let's push it again. Dark Star is taken off of POLIÇA's debut record, "Give You The Ghost".

The Gaslight Anthem - 45

One of the most gifted bands pf the moment. Official video for the lead single from the new album 'Handwritten'.

The Hickey Underworld - The Frog

Can't help it. Again it's Belgium. New video Hickey Underworld: The Frog. Taken from the album "I'm Under The House, I'm Dying". Yes!

Wallace Vanborn - Found in LA

This rocks like Triggerfinger. Stoner rockers from Belgium Wallace Vanborn made a great record: Lions, Liars, Guns & God. Listen to the single Found in LA and conclude (again): the Belgians rule!

Willem stops writing for Earbiter

Thanks for lending your ears all those years. Thank you for following me and our blog. First with HomeOfTheHits. Then Earbiter. After 6 years of discovering on a daily base new bands I'm going to stop for a long period posting on Earbiter. I discovered my love for jazz, funk and other old & cool music. And I want to write a book.

With Maarten in the lead this blog Earbiter will continue posting good stuff. No worries. And I will go on discovering new bands and collecting rare and old vinyl. You can follow my latest purchases on a weekly base on my other music blog:

Rare Record Reporter.

CHEERS, WILLEM.

Some coded text in Dutch.

Futures - Karma Satellite

This could be a smash hit. Futures know how to make a good alternative rock song. Choir included! First single from 'The Karma Album'.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - Stronger

Orlando Higginbottom is my main man lately. His debut album TEED is going to be a fresh British dance experience. Very 80's, some electro but still warm and close.

The Vaccines - No Hope

They're back: the hype of 2011. But What Did You Expect From the Vaccines indeed was a great album and their songs are catchy as hell. New song & video is No Hope. New album will be released in July: The Vaccines Come Of Age.

The Rocket Summer - Revival

Bryce Avary is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer. The Rocket Summer is a solo project. Revival is the second song of album Life will write the words. Hit potential, no doubt.

Jack White - Sixteen saltines

Wow. Jack White rules my stereo. Sixteen saltines. 16 crackers. Whatever. Great clip. Wow.

The head and the heart - River and roads

For those who love folky singersongwriter stuff live with a guitar, three singers and a sweet song.

Bloody Beach - Gonzo Blues

What a great song. What a great band. What a great future. Indiedance act from Norway.

Kids these days - Darling

Dutch band 'De jeugd van tegenwoordig' got themselves a 8 men jazzy & funky orientated brotherband from Chicago. Some rap, some blues, some 'Cake', no genre is their genre. A three horn section, I love it.

2:54 - You're Early

What the fog? This is a good one. Band from London (sisters Hannah and Colette Thurlow) with a song that is actually longer than 2.54. Bad joke, I know. Great song, this dark tune!

The Walkmen - Heaven

American indie rockers known for songs as Angela Surf City. New album & single are called Heaven. Pitchfork rated the album 8.1, and Stereogum called it the second best album of the year. The song Heaven indeed is a great indie song. Love the video as well. It will put a smile on your face.

The Heartbreaks - Delay, Delay

Typically British, that's why I like it. New Heartbreaks vid. Debut album 'Funtimes' out now.
