Matthew E White - Big love

A great bass line. That's the secret. A jazzy version of Roxy Music mixed with Bon Iver. Album is called Big Inner. White is a great fan of Randy Newman. I am a big fan of both.

Dutch Uncles - Flexxin

Dutch Uncles are an indie rock band from Marple, England. They are known for their use of atypical time signatures within a pop context. Their influences includes several bands such as King Crimson, Steve Reich, XTC and Talking Heads. May I add Sparks? Flexxin is taken from the album Out of Touch in the Wild. Great indie dance.

Hudson Taylor - Battles

Nu folk. Third album. Brothers Harry and Alfie, 20 and 18. Think Mumford and sons.

Lawrence Arabia - Traveling shoes

New band. First album (yeah from 2012, I know): The sparrow. No, it's not David Byrne. Lawrence Arabia is the pseudonym of James Milne, born 1981 in Christchurch, New Zealand. A former member of The Ruby Suns.

Machines are people too - The fever

Great indie dance. A bit of Spoon (also great). Great synth riffs. Very, very promising. And great.

Chaos chaos - My hand

Asy and Cloe are Chaos Chaos. Cloe: we're sick of listening to albums where every song sounds similar. We believe songs should each be their own entity, so we treated the songs like people, each with different personalities, and tried to make each song as extreme as it could be. It was a huge challenge to fully embody the mood and atmosphere of every song, but it was our goal to test ourselves by putting ourselves in an uncomfortable place.

It is working!

Laura Mvula - She

Laura Mvula's debut album is coming soon. She is a classicly schooled jazz singer. She is the title of her first hit. And not her last. Strange crossover soul. I like.

From the new album We Met At Sea, which will be released somewhere this spring. The song Animal is a hit. Hope to see the guys live on one of the summer festivals.
