Hard-Fi - Good For Nothing

Net als je je afvraagt of ze nog bestaan, komt Hard-Fi met een nieuwe video. Het briljante debuutalbum uit 2005 Stars of CCTV (elk nummer was raak) is eigenlijk niet meer te evenaren. Na een aantal jaar stilte is de Britse band terug met Good For Nothing. Die ligt ook weer makkelijk in het gehoor, maar is minder krachtig dan de tracks van 'toen'.

I was wondering if this band still existed. It does. New video after years of silence. Hard-Fi made an absolute brilliant debut album - Stars of CCTV - in 2005, and it's hard to surpass that. New song has strength, but is not as powerfull as songs like Tight up too tight and Hard to beat. Nevertheless I'm glad they are back.

The Shoes - Stay the same

The Shoes aka Guillaume & Benjamin grew up in the French town of Reims (45 mins outside Paris), they met at the age of 15 and immediately gelled, falling into a love-hate affair that's seen many a twist and turn along the way. Needless to say, the relationship that was built on a love of music, girls and being too cool for école, is still going strong.

Honeycut - Protégé

Jaah, het nieuwe album van Honeycut is uit. Vijf jaar moest ik erop wachten. Gelukkig is het debuutalbum nooit gaan vervelen. Ja, inderdaad... Ik heb een zwak voor ze. Ze doen waar ze zin in hebben en dat levert altijd een rare groovy soulvolle plaat op. De zanger Bart Davenport heeft een te gekke stem. Drie man, zang toetsen en drumcomputer en toch een gelaagd geluid. San Fransisco Bay Area. Daar moeten we zijn.

Honeycut joins keyboardist/arranger RV Salters, singer Bart Davenport and drum programmer Tony Sevener. Had to wait five long years for this new album: Comedians.
