We Show Up On Radar - The Anchors In Your Heart

This song is out for a while now, but it needs more attention. The video is very touching with a main part for the 'brother' of Edward Scissorhands. The Anchors In Your Heart is one of the songs on the album Sadness Defeated, released in September.

Holychild - Watching waiting

Holychild is a creative collaboration between Louie Diller and Liz Nistico. The two met at college in Washington, DC in 2010 and have been writing music ever since. What began as a school project for Diller in the fall of 2011, eventually evolved into holychild, and what it is today. The sound of holychild seeks to bridge the gap between Bjork and Katy Perry; experimental meets pop. Watch Holychild’s debut single and music video, Watching Waiting. I hear a bit Portishead as well.

Folks - My Mother

One of Manchester's upcoming bands: Folks. The six piece released their debut album I See Cathedrals in October. Britpop/altrock with an edge & the new single My Mother is a hit. Minor detail: it reminds me a bit of "Who are you" of The Who. Maybe it's the choirs in the song.

Tom Odell - Can't pretend

UK-born (Chichester) musician Tom Odell started songwriting at the age of 13. Odell now is 22 and he is making big moves forward in the music scene. He made is TV debut in 2012 on Later… with Jools Holland and signed to Colombia. Critics agree that Odell could be the next big thing. There are even some comparisons to Jeff Buckley. Listen to and watch Odell's song Can't pretend. It is overwhelming.

Pulp - After you

2012 was the reunion year of Pulp with a few gigs and now they surprise us with a new song "After You", a fun collaboration with James Murphy (ex-LCD Soundsystem). It's the first new track in ten years. But there won't be a new album. Jarvis Cocker has said that there are no plans for that. So just enjoy this song.

Dog Is Dead - Teenage Daughter

Dog Is Dead are a five-piece indie pop band from West Bridgford, Nottingham, who have described their music as "an original blend of harmonious, indie-pop in the disco, with a cheeky jazz hint". After four years this could be their breakthrough. This song will linger in your mind. Wanna bet?

Peace - Wraith

One of the brand new fresh British bands from 2012. Got lots of attention from the British media and two weeks ago the BBC announced that Peace has been nominated for the Sound of 2013 poll. First single was Bloodshake. The new one from this Birmingham band is Wraith. Waiting for their first full album. Also watch: Bloodshake

Manchester outfit The Courteeners released 2 albums (St. Jude & Falcon) so far that where very successful in - especially - the UK. Here's the new single & video: Lose control. The band is evolving into a big indie band. And Courteeners-boss Liam Fray has lots of self-confidence telling NME that the band "are the best on the planet right now". Do you agree?

Little Green Cars - The John Wayne

Little Green Cars, 4 guys and a girl. The band is from Ireland. If we listen to the excellent debut single The John Wayne (thank God it's not a cover of Haysi Fantayzee's "John Wayne is Big Leggy") we hear country-rock, boy-girl harmonies, Band of Horses influences, Arcade Fire emotion. So: band to watch!

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - We know who U R

After writing the script for the movie "Lawless" (featuring Shia LaBeouf, Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman) the maestro is back with a music masterpiece. It's the first track from the upcoming Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album, "Push The Sky Away". The new record will be released next February. Enjoy this lyrics vid.

Foxygen - Shuggie

I'm addicted to this song. Most amazing tune of the moment, imho. Foxygen is an American indie rock duo originally formed in Westlake Village, California in 2005 by Jonathan Rado and Sam France. Shuggie (Official Video) from the album 'We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic' out January 22.

Cheatahs - The Swan

The band of London-based Canadian Nathan Ernest Hewitt made their debute in 2009. Back with a new song now: The Swan. This strong Britpop/indie song is the lead track from the SANS EP.

The Faint - Evil Voices

Eleven years after the release of their magnum opus "Dance Macabre" The Faint is back with a sensational new track. The Faint has not been very active lately (they released their last album in 2008), or maybe just a bit under the radar. But the new song Evil Voices is very promising.
