Had een nieuw Bowie nummer kunnen zijn. Indierockers uit NYC. Doet denken aan Bloc Party. Het nieuwe album Ruit for Ruin is uit. De zanger is berucht voor verkleedpartijen met pruiken, catsuits, judopakken, visserspakken, stukken planten, incontinentieluiers en zijn stagedives besprenkeld met modder, confetti in het publiek.

Kele Okereke of Bloc Party wrote of Les Savy Fav's influence on his band for an article in The Observer in 2005 and members of Enon have contributed to several Les Savy Fav tracks.

Classical electronica hip hop from London. DJ Jon Wandeck + MC SsegaMic + The Chatto Quartet. Oftewel strijkkwartet met een hele goede beat. Gedurft maar ze komen er goed mee weg.

Weer zo'n typisch 80's electro revival liedje. Maar het werkt. Het werkt zelfs beter dan in de jaren '80. Klein broertje van Jon Anderson (Yes) lijkt hij... Voor de liefhebbers ook een 'stripped' (akoestische) versie.

Great hit from 1972. Celentano's rationale for the song was that, after releasing albums about ecology and social issues, "having just recorded an album of songs that meant something, I wanted to do something that meant nothing". Very funny subtitles.

Stevige indiedanceshit met ruige synths. Chic punk heet hun EP. En dit is een floorkiller. Komen uit NYC. Zes man. Melodic Daft vs Leftfield punkish.

Paragraph: "Around the time our original drummer left the band, we began experimenting with drum machines. That really shaped our sound. When we play live, we use three forms of drums: electronic drums and two percussionists. It's been working out for us as far as dance music is concerned, and we still feel like we have freedom to play with our dynamics. It's been nice. As far as recording goes, we feel like we've only just begun to take advantage of technology."

Country zonder dat het naar country klinkt waar je meteen aan denkt als iemand country zegt. Snap je? Het is natuurlijk hartstikke country. Ik probeer je even te laten wennen aan deze gedachte. Dat je naar country gaat luisteren. Mooie ballads. Het album Ode to Sentience is geschreven in San Fransisco. Prachtig. En country. Had ik je al gewaarschuwd? Laat je vooroordelen varen en luister naar het verhaal.

« I found catharsis in creating these songs » she says. « They speak to the emotional simplicity and complexity of human relationship. I chose to call the record 'Ode To Sentience' because it is the capacity to feel that creates a shared human experience of music. We all share the potency of music by having the capacity to feel, and I found the simplicity of this fact very beautiful ».

Rasta man. Lekkere track, geweldige clip. Flox is een drummer die raggae, rock en electro een heel eigen draai weet te geven. Sinds zijn 11de woont hij in Parijs. Album: The words.

Flox: "The thing is, I played all instruments on the record which sounds nice but when your're on stage you need friends to give you a hand. So we put the band together in a month. Didn't sound too good at the begining but now, for the new album "the words" we are ready to blast your head off ! Hope you like it..."

Nova Nova - Prisoner's song

Hotel Costes 14 is weer zo'n cd uit de reeks die je goed laat wegdrijven van de kust op je luchtbedje tijdens je strandvakantie. Op dat album staat Nova Nova met een lekker trippy jazzy nummer dat lang mag duren. Voor sommigen liftmuziek, voor mij ligmuziek. Nova Nova is een Frans duo dat lounge en chill al in 1992 heeft uitgevonden. Het duo is overigens net uit elkaar. Marc Durif gaat alleen door en dit is zijn eerste track.

As a classic styled pianist - in a rather self taught manner, Marc Durif likes to jump from Chopin or Bach’s pieces to Chic’s hits. He composes in a different manner, using synth, samplers and sequencers.
